In the past 4 years, I've always found myself outside of an apple store whenever a new product rolls out. It wasn't something I've wanted to do, it was just one of those coincidences... until today.

After a meeting in the morning, on the way to work, I decided to drive by Town Square where one of the two Apple stores are located here in Las Vegas. I was expecting a line of course, outside the store and around the block. I don't want to say I was amazed - that was 2 years ago. I probably am, safely, mesmerized still by the whole event.

When the ipad came out, a few months ago, we were able to go in during the mayhem because my aunt was getting one. They were limiting the guests inside the store to those who wish to purchase something. They will be escorted inside by an associate or team member during the buying process.

I had my camera with, as any self respecting photographer should everyday, and with the harsh shadows coming in, I decided to meter the light off of the building sides closest to the people. I wanted to shoot far enough to not focus on any particular groups or faces. I isolated my shots to show mainly the line against the building.

I brought out my cheap "wide angle" lens (it's actually an abominable attachment to my 67mm). I guess I can't justify that, so let me re-describe the cheap accessory - it's a piece of glass that gives a far from perfect image, but at a wider angle. The distortions are evident, but I guess at this point, I like the effect because it just brings that feel of expansion-ness to the image.

I had posted on my facebook page that I would, "one day do something unecessarily idiotic and stupid like camping and waiting outside an apple store for the new iphone..."

I understand those who are fanatics and would like to get their hands on the device. Im sure its a combination of, I want to say I got it first, I will be the first bozo to post a review on youtube so all my youtube subscribers will be impressed at my prowess in waiting in line overnight and, "cmon, let's do something reeeaaaally crazy".

I'm a fanatic too of certain things, I won't judge this people any more than I already have. There will always be something like this in anything. I am just waiting for the feeds of reviews and "complaints on the new iphone are coming in..." stories on blogs and news sites. Till then, enjoy the images.
